The 2020 Tour de Yorkshire is yet another major event that have been called off due to the Covid 19 Pandemic.
Plans were well on the way and the BBC Bus knew of 3 of the 4 venues that we were going to broadcast from.
However due to the spread of the virus the entire event will not take place in 2020.

BBC Humberside - Capital of Culture 2017
| BBC Humberside's bus at burton constable hall |
2017 is a big year for Hull and everyone involved in the City.
For the whole year, the city is the UK City of Culture.
BBC Humberside wanted to refelt this right but not forget about the rest of the editorial area. (East Riding of Yorkshire, North and North-East Lincolnshire)
To that end, the former BBC Somerset bus has been reconditioned and sent north.
From January to December 2017 the new BBC Humberside bus with travel around the region.
They will be broadcasting the Phil White show (12 noon to 2.30pm) each day, Monday to Friday.
From Bridlington to Cleethorpes, Grimsby to Goole, the bus will broadcast across the patch not only making sure that the events of the City of Cutler are covered but also the areas outside the city don't feel like the BBC is missing them out.
I was drafted in to drive the bus, as the two members of BBC staff hadn't passed their driving test and also to help set up the broadcast side of the bus.

National League Play-off 2016
This time it's to see who can came that 92nd and last place in the football league.
The game on Sunday the 15th of May kicked off at 4pm between Forest Green Rovers of Gloucester and Grimsby Town of North East Lincolnshire.
As you can imagine both BBC Local radio stations (BBC Gloucestershire and BBC Humberside) had full live coverage to see if they could get another league side on there patch.
We had all the build up from Olympic way.
As for the match itself. Well Grimsby won that three goals to nil, going up via the play offs at the 3rd time of asking.
Well done Grimsby Town FC.

Tour de Yorkshire 2016
| The Tour de Yorkshire 2016 |
THE TOUR DE YORKSHIRE.
Now into its second year the Tour de Yorkshire takes place across the whole of Yorkshire and even into Middlesbro' this year.
The three day event is coved in full by BBC Local Radio and as you would expect the BBC Bus is there to lend a helping hand to what is a logistical nightmear for the stations.
On Friady the 29th of April the Tour started in the historic market town of Beverly in the East Riding. The Bus was in the the village of Market Weighton to watch the tour leave the East Riding.
On Day two (Saturday the 30th of April) we got in to West Yorkshire to the start line that was in Otley. There we watched not only the start of the mens race but the start of the very first womans race with 27 year old Lizzie Armitstead starting the race in her home town. Armitstead was a member of the gold medal winning team pursuit squad at the 2009 Track World Championships, her second appearance at a senior world championship event.
On the last day we headed back east again to scarborough to the finishing line by the beach. Were we saw Danish Thomas Voecker beat Ireland's and team sky's Nicolas Roche by just six seconds over the whole three days.

Turn Back Time
What was the high street like before the days of Primark or Boots? The BBC 1 program Turn Back Time aims to find out. Over 100 years of high street history starting of with the Butcher, Baker and the Candlestick maker.
As the TV program revamped one high street in Somerset each week, BBC Video Nation picked 6 locations and found local storytellers and film makers to tell the history of their own high street.
The high streets range from, Stapleton Road in Bristol, which has the name of the most dangerous street in Britain, to the high street in Penzance. We also went to Eccles, Whitechaple, Beverley and Leicester.
