Burnsy Interviews a fish

Bristol Rovers beat Grimsby Town on penalties to win the Conference promotion final and secure an instant return to the Football League.

Both sides hoping for a return to league two when they faced each outer at Wembley on Saturday the 17th of May 2015.

All square after full time and extra time it was spot kicks that settled the difference in Bristol's favour.

Broadcasting before the game on BBC Radio Bristol and BBC Radio Humberside we got all the fans excitement as they headed into Wembley.

Talent Ticket - BBC School News 2014

Talent Ticket Crew 2014

As part of BBC School Report week, BBC Bristol sent out its "Talent Ticket" crew into 10 schools over two week.  

The BBC Bus joined the crew for the first week only

Student Ambassadors from UWE joined with BBC crews from across Bristol and the UK to help give a wide range of media treated takes.


The task included, making a magazine programme,  sports commentary,  make up, reading the TV news and street dance.

The schools the bus visited are....
Monday 24^th March – Oasis Academy John Williams
Tuesday 25^th March - Merchants Academy, Withywood,
Wednesday 26^th March - City Academy, St Georges
Thursday 27^th March – Oasis Brighstowe, Lawrence Weston
Friday 26^th March - Henbury School, ,

The Bus Climbing up on Solsbury Hill

Early in 2014 BBC Radio Bristol embarked on a year long promotion campain aimed at getting out of the office and around its patch.

The idea was to go to one area each day for a week and find stories that wouldnt have been aired.

The venues for the first week of the promotion where all in or around the City of Bath.

Monday - Weston: Outside Kings Head - High street

Tuesday - Oldfield Park: Co-Op car park is behind Moorland Road

Wednesday - New Oriel Hall

Thursday - Bath University: Outside The Chancellors Buildings

Friday - Bath City centre: Bath Bus station

The main OBs for the week came (From the bus) came on Thursday and Friday.

On Thursday Laura Rawlings came to the Uni to bring her show out before Steve Le Fevre came out to Bath City Centre on Friday to bring his Breakfast show from the bus

Carry on Up the Coast with Laura Rawlings

Laura Rawlings in Weston, 

Laura Rawlings has been presenting the afternoon show on BBC Bristol and BBC 

Somerset since April 2013.  

Its now her  tie to take her show on the 

road.

Starting in Minehead on the Monday 

each day will be a trip down the coast until it reaches Bristol on the Friday.

The BBC Bus didn't make it to mainehad due to comitments in Hull however I was with the team on arival into Burnham On Sea on Tuesday.

As well as all the normal interviews that Larura puts in her show, she went down to BARB, who look after the hovercaft lifeboat on the Burnham Bay.

Wednesday's venue was by the hostric Weston Super Mear peir.

Thursday across from the peir in Cleavdon

And the final day was in Bristol by the M Shed

Turn Back Time

What was the high street like before the days of Primark or Boots? The BBC 1 program Turn Back Time aims to find out. Over 100 years of high street history starting of with the Butcher, Baker and the Candlestick maker.

As the TV program revamped one high street in Somerset each week, BBC Video Nation picked 6 locations and found local storytellers and film makers to tell the history of their own high street.

The high streets range from, Stapleton Road in Bristol, which has the name of the most dangerous street in Britain, to the high street in Penzance. We also went to Eccles, Whitechaple, Beverley and Leicester.
